PPR Built-in concealed chrome valve
The valve works with a rising spindle that seats on the base of the T-shaped body, so the handwheel can set the flow rate as well as close the line. It can isolate a bathroom, a kitchen or a flat and can also limit the flow to it.
Description and application
The THERMALINO PPR concealed valve is a PN25 stop valve made of PP-R. Its body is fused into the pipework and stays inside the wall, while a chrome handwheel and cover stay in view. It shuts off and regulates the water supply to bathrooms, kitchens and apartment entries in sizes Ø20, Ø25 and Ø32.
The PPR concealed valve from the Eternal line is a built-in stop valve for PP-R hot and cold water installations. The PP-R body is fused into the line and then plastered or tiled over. Only the chrome cover and handwheel show on the finished wall, which keeps a bathroom or kitchen neat. The body is made of prime-grade PP-R (polypropylene random copolymer, type 3), and it fuses cleanly with THERMALINO PP-R pipes for a long service life. The internal parts are made of CW617N brass with a lead content below 2.2 %, in line with European norms. The valve has nominal pressure PN25, an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum temperature of 95 °C. The pressure you may use at each temperature is in the technical data sheet. Inside the valve, a spindle moves up and down as the handwheel turns. In its lowest position it presses on the base of the T-shaped body and stops the water. In any position between fully open and closed, it sets the flow rate. As a result, the valve can isolate a supply for repairs and also limit the flow to a room. The valve joins the pipework by socket fusion in sizes Ø20, Ø25 and Ø32, using the same heating tools as the rest of the PP-R system. Because the body cannot be reached once the wall is finished, the installer pressure-tests the line before closing the wall and sets the valve at the right depth for the chrome trim.

Questions
- What is the purpose of a PPR concealed valve in a bathroom, and can it adjust the water flow as well as shut it off?
- The THERMALINO PPR concealed valve shuts off the water supply to a bathroom and can also set how much water flows through it. Its rising spindle closes the line when it seats on the base of the T-shaped body. In the positions between open and closed, it controls the flow rate. The PP-R body stays inside the wall and only the chrome handwheel and cover show.
- How is a PPR concealed valve joined to PP-R pipes when installing the supply lines for a bathroom or an apartment entry?
- The PPR concealed valve is joined to PP-R pipes by socket fusion, in the same way as other PP-R fittings, in sizes Ø20, Ø25 and Ø32. The body is buried in the wall, so the line should be pressure-tested before plastering or tiling. The valve should also be set at a depth that lets the chrome trim sit correctly on the finished wall. A qualified installer does this work.
- Can a PPR concealed valve be used on the hot water line of a domestic bathroom, and what pressure and temperature limits apply?
- Yes, the THERMALINO PPR concealed valve can be used on hot water lines: it is rated PN25, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum temperature of 95 °C. The pressure it can carry falls as the temperature rises. The full pressure and temperature table is in the technical data sheet, and the system should be sized from that table.
- What are the different types of PPR valves, and when should an installer choose a concealed chrome valve over a standard stop valve?
- A PPR concealed chrome valve is the type to choose when the valve sits in a finished wall and has to look neat, because its body and handwheel are housed inside chrome parts. It uses the same rising-spindle stop mechanism as a standard stop valve, so it both isolates and regulates the flow. This makes it a common choice for the supply to bathrooms, where it stays in view.
- What material is the brass insert of a PPR concealed valve made of, and what is its lead content?
- The brass insert of the THERMALINO PPR concealed valve is made of CW617N brass with a lead content below 2.2 %, in line with European norms. The body around it is prime-grade PP-R (type 3), which fuses directly with PP-R pipes.
