The brass outlet has a BSP parallel (G) female thread, also called gas thread. It takes BSP male threads, and the seal is made on the male thread. NPT male threads do not fit it.

Description and application

The THERMALINO PPR female tee is a PP-R tee with two socket fusion ends and a CW617N brass female thread on the branch. It takes a threaded branch off a PPR hot or cold water line for a tap, valve, gauge or appliance, and is rated PN25 to EN ISO 15874-3.

The PPR female tee is a 90-degree branch fitting for PP-R water lines. The two run ends are sockets that are fused to the pipe. The branch ends in a brass female thread, so a tap, valve, gauge or appliance with a male thread can go straight onto the line. It is part of the THERMALINO Eternal line of PPR fittings with brass. It comes in five sizes, Ø20x1/2", Ø25x1/2", Ø25x3/4", Ø32x3/4" and Ø32x1", so the thread can match the pipe size or be one size smaller. The body is made from prime-grade polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R, type 3) to EN ISO 15874-3. Nominal pressure is PN25, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum of 95 °C. The threaded insert is CW617N brass with a lead content below 2.2%, within European norms. The thread is BSP parallel (G), also called gas thread. This PPR female threaded tee is joined to PPR pipe by socket fusion. The pipe end and the socket are heated together on a fusion tool and pushed together, and they set as one solid joint without solvent cement or sealing material. The tee is made to fuse with THERMALINO PPR pipes. The male fitting that goes into the brass outlet is sealed on its own thread with PTFE tape or a thread sealant suited to the medium and the temperature.
