PPR Inegal tee
Each size gives the two run outlets and the branch outlet in millimetres. For example, Ø50x25x50 takes a 50 mm main line and a 25 mm branch. One size, Ø20x25x20, has a branch larger than the run.

Description and application
The THERMALINO PPR reducing tee is a PP-R socket fusion fitting that takes a smaller (or, in one size, larger) branch off a main line, so water is distributed from the main pipe to the lines that feed individual flats, bathrooms or fixtures. It is rated PN25, conforms to EN ISO 15874-3 and comes in sizes from Ø20 to Ø63 mm.
The PPR reducing tee from the Eternal line is a three-way fitting that connects a branch of a different diameter to a PP-R main line. It works as a distribution point: the run continues at full size, while the branch feeds a smaller line to a flat, a bathroom or a group of fixtures. Some buyers call this fitting a PPR reducer tee or a PPR tee reducer. The range covers 18 sizes, from Ø20x25x20 to Ø63x50x63. The fitting is made from prime-grade polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R, type 3) and conforms to EN ISO 15874-3, the part of the standard that covers polypropylene fittings for hot and cold water installations. Its nominal pressure is PN25. The operating temperature is 70 °C and the maximum temperature is 95 °C. The allowable pressure at each temperature and the service life values are given in the technical data sheet. The tee is joined by socket fusion. The pipe end and the fitting socket are heated with a fusion tool and then pushed together, so that pipe and fitting form one homogeneous joint without threads, sealant or glue. It is designed to weld with THERMALINO PP-R pipes, which gives a sound joint and a long service life across the whole line. The fitting comes in white, grey and green, so it can match the colour of the pipe line on site.

Questions
- What does a PPR reducing tee do in the hot and cold water system of an apartment building, and where is it usually fitted?
- A PPR reducing tee takes a smaller branch off a larger PP-R main line, so it acts as a distribution point between a riser or main and the lines feeding each flat, bathroom or group of fixtures. The THERMALINO tee keeps the run at full diameter and reduces only the branch, in 18 sizes from Ø20x25x20 to Ø63x50x63.
- How do I choose the right PPR reducing tee size when a 50 mm PP-R riser has to feed a 25 mm branch line?
- For a 50 mm main line with a 25 mm branch, the PPR reducing tee to choose is size Ø50x25x50, where the outer figures are the run and the middle figure is the branch. Branches of 20, 32 and 40 mm are also available on the 50 mm run. The branch diameter itself should follow the flow calculation made by the system designer or installer.
- How is a PPR reducing tee joined to PP-R pipe on site, and does the joint need threads, glue or sealant?
- A PPR reducing tee is joined to PP-R pipe by socket fusion, with no threads, glue or sealant. The pipe end and the fitting socket are heated with a socket fusion tool and pushed together, so they form one homogeneous joint. The THERMALINO tee is designed to weld with THERMALINO PP-R pipes. Heating times and insertion depths for each diameter should follow the fusion tool and pipe system instructions.
- Can a PN25 PPR reducing tee be used on domestic hot water and central heating lines that run at around 70 °C?
- Yes, the THERMALINO PPR reducing tee is suitable for hot water and heating lines within its limits: nominal pressure PN25, operating temperature 70 °C and maximum temperature 95 °C, to EN ISO 15874-3. The allowable pressure falls as the temperature rises, so check the pressure at your working temperature in the technical data sheet. The pipe used with the tee must be rated for the same service conditions.
