Description and application
The THERMALINO PPR Y strainer is a PP-R fitting with a stainless mesh filter that catches coarse dirt in hot and cold water lines. It is joined by socket fusion at one end and has a brass CW617N male BSP thread at the other. Dirt collects in the 45° leg, and the blind plug is opened to clean it out during routine maintenance.
The THERMALINO PPR Y strainer (PPR Male filter 45° f/m, Eternal line) is an in-line filter fitting for PP-R pipework. A stainless mesh filter inside the body holds back coarse dirt such as sand, scale and installation debris before it can reach the valves, meters, pumps and appliances further along the line. The body is PP-R (polypropylene random copolymer, type 3), made from prime-grade raw material to EN ISO 15874-3. It has a nominal pressure of PN25, an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum temperature of 95 °C. The threaded insert is CW617N brass with a lead content below 2.2%, in line with European norms. The thread is a parallel BSP thread, also known as a gas thread. One end is a female socket that is joined to PP-R pipe by socket fusion and gives a homogeneous, long-lasting joint with THERMALINO PP-R pipes. The other end is a male thread that screws directly into a female-threaded valve, meter or appliance connection, so the filter can sit right in front of the equipment it protects without a separate adaptor. The fitting comes in Ø20, Ø25 and Ø32, in white. Dirt carried by the water settles in the 45° leg. During routine maintenance, the blind plug is opened and the mesh is cleaned. Install this filter with the leg pointing downward and leave enough room to reach the plug. Isolation valves upstream and downstream let it be serviced without draining the system.
