PPR Male tee

The THERMALINO PPR male tee joins PP-R pipe by socket fusion on its run and gives a brass male BSP thread on the branch, so a threaded valve, tap, meter or appliance can be connected to a hot and cold water line. It is rated PN25, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum of 95 °C, and comes in sizes from Ø20x1/2" to Ø32x1".

The PPR male tee is a branch fitting from the Eternal line that changes a PP-R pipeline over to a threaded connection. Two socket-fusion ends take the pipe, and the branch ends in a male thread on a brass insert moulded into the PP-R body. The thread is BSP parallel (G), and the insert is CW617N brass, a grade chosen for its low lead content, given as below 2.2%. The body is moulded from prime-grade polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R, type 3) to EN ISO 15874-3. The fitting is rated PN25, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum temperature of 95 °C, so it can be used on both the hot and cold water side of a building. It fuses cleanly with THERMALINO PP-R pipes for a homogeneous joint and a long service life. Pressure ratings that change with temperature and service life are given in the technical data sheet. The range covers Ø20x1/2", Ø25x1/2", Ø25x3/4", Ø32x3/4" and Ø32x1", where the first figure is the pipe outside diameter in millimetres and the second is the thread size. The tee is available in white, grey and green. In installation, the pipe ends are joined with a socket-fusion welding tool at the heating times for each diameter. The threaded branch is then made up with thread sealant or a gasket. Because the threaded joint can be taken apart, it suits points where a valve, meter or appliance may need to be removed later. Like all PP-R components, the fitting should be protected from direct sunlight when installed outdoors.
