PPR Wallplate elbow male
The brass end has a BSP parallel (G) male thread. A parallel thread does not seal on the thread flanks, so the mating part must have a matching female G thread and the joint is sealed with a washer or gasket against the face.
Description and application
The PPR Wallplate elbow male is a 90° PP-R fitting with a wall-mounting plate and a CW617N brass male BSP thread, socket-fused to PP-R pipe to create a fixed threaded outlet on a wall for hot and cold water. It is rated PN25 to EN ISO 15874-3, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum of 95 °C.
The PPR Wallplate elbow male from the THERMALINO Eternal line is a 90° elbow that turns a concealed or surface-run PP-R line out of the wall and ends it in a fixed threaded outlet. One end is a socket for fusion welding to the pipe; the other is a male thread on a brass insert, held in place by an integrated plate that is fixed to the wall or a mounting frame. The body is made from PP-R polypropylene random copolymer and the threaded insert from CW617N brass. The fitting conforms to EN ISO 15874-3 for PP-R fittings in hot and cold water installations and is rated PN25, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum temperature of 95 °C. The thread is BSP parallel (G), also known as gas thread. It is available as Ø20 x 1/2" and Ø25 x 1/2". It is used wherever a pipe run must end at a firm point on a wall: connections for taps, angle valves, flexible connectors, appliances and other parts with a female 1/2" G thread, in bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and plant rooms. The plate keeps the outlet steady when the connected part is tightened, so the load is not carried by the welded joint. The socket end is joined to PP-R pipe of the matching diameter by socket fusion, using a heating tool and the welding times for that size. Fix the plate before connecting the threaded part, and seal the parallel thread with a suitable washer or gasket on the face. Pressure ratings at other temperatures are given in the technical data sheet.

Questions
- What is the difference between a male and a female PPR wallplate elbow when I set up tap and appliance outlets in a bathroom?
- A male PPR wallplate elbow has an external thread that takes a part with a female thread, while a female wallplate elbow has an internal thread that takes a male-threaded part. The THERMALINO PPR Wallplate elbow male has a 1/2" BSP parallel (G) male thread on a CW617N brass insert, so it suits flexible connectors, valves and other parts with a 1/2" G female thread.
- How should the BSP parallel thread on a male PPR wallplate elbow be sealed when connecting a flexible hose or valve?
- The BSP parallel (G) thread on the PPR Wallplate elbow male is sealed with a washer or gasket pressed against the face, because a parallel thread does not seal on its flanks. The connected part must have a matching 1/2" G female thread; fix the wallplate firmly before tightening, so the joint is not twisted.
- Can a PN25 PPR wallplate elbow male be used on hot water lines in a residential or hotel plumbing system?
- Yes, the PPR Wallplate elbow male is rated PN25 and conforms to EN ISO 15874-3, the standard for PP-R fittings in hot and cold water installations. Its operating temperature is 70 °C, with a maximum of 95 °C; the allowed pressure at each temperature is given in the technical data sheet.
- How is the PPR wallplate elbow male joined to PP-R pipe, and which pipe sizes does it fit?
- The PPR Wallplate elbow male is joined to PP-R pipe by socket fusion, welding the pipe into the fitting's socket with a heating tool. It is available as Ø20 x 1/2" and Ø25 x 1/2", for PP-R pipe of 20 mm and 25 mm outside diameter, and the welding times for each size should be followed.
