Description and application
The PPR wallplate mixer connection is a double PP-R fitting that brings the hot and cold water supplies to a wall-mounted bath or shower mixer. Each outlet is socket-fused to PP-R pipe and ends in a 1/2" BSP female brass thread, and a fixed plastic bridge between them keeps the outlets at a set distance so the mixer sits level on the finished wall.
The PPR wallplate mixer connection is a double fitting for the hot and cold supply of a wall-mounted mixer. It has two PP-R bodies, each with a socket-fusion end and a 1/2" BSP parallel (G) female thread, joined by a plastic bridge of standard length. The bridge fixes the distance and height of the two outlets, so the mixer's connectors meet the threads square and the tap sits level on the tiled wall. The body is made from prime-grade polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R, type 3). The threaded inserts are CW617N brass with a lead content below 2.2%, in line with European norms. The fitting is made to EN ISO 15874-3 and rated PN25, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum of 95 °C, so it carries both the hot and the cold feed. It is available for Ø20 and Ø25 pipe, both with a 1/2" thread, in white, grey and green. On site, the wallplate is socket-fused to the hot and cold PP-R branches at first fix, with the same welding tools used for the rest of the line. It forms full fusion joints with THERMALINO PP-R pipes of matching size. It is set in the wall before plastering or tiling. Once the wall is finished, the mixer's connectors screw into the brass threads. Its usual place is the bath or shower, and it serves any standard mixer that takes separate hot and cold inlets.

Questions
- Which size of PPR wallplate mixer connection should I choose for a shower mixer fed by Ø20 or Ø25 PP-R pipe?
- Choose the PPR wallplate mixer connection by the outside diameter of the PP-R branch pipe: Ø20x1/2" for Ø20 pipe and Ø25x1/2" for Ø25 pipe. Both sizes have the same 1/2" BSP parallel (G) female thread, so the mixer side stays the same. The pipe size follows the design of the supply line.
- Can a PPR wallplate mixer connection carry the hot water feed of a bath mixer as well as the cold feed in an apartment building?
- Yes, the PPR wallplate mixer connection is rated PN25 and carries both the hot and the cold feed of a mixer. It is made to EN ISO 15874-3, with an operating temperature of 70 °C and a maximum temperature of 95 °C. The allowable pressure at a given temperature and service life is listed in the technical data sheet.
- How is a PPR wallplate mixer connection joined to the PP-R pipework and to the shower mixer during a bathroom installation?
- The PPR wallplate mixer connection is socket-fused to the hot and cold PP-R pipes on one side, and the mixer's connectors screw into its 1/2" BSP female brass threads on the other. Fusion is done with standard PP-R socket welding tools at first fix, before the wall is tiled. The threads are used at second fix, when the mixer is mounted. They are BSP parallel (G), so the mixer connectors need a matching G thread.
- What centre distance does a PPR wallplate mixer connection give between the hot and cold outlets of a wall-mounted mixer?
- The PPR wallplate mixer connection holds the hot and cold outlets at a fixed, standard centre distance. A plastic bridge joins the two outlets, so they cannot move apart while the wall is plastered and tiled. The exact centre distance for each size is in the technical data sheet. Check it against the mixer's specification before ordering.
